Raphael Swingley is an artist and photographer based in Philadelphia, PA. His work captures quiet spaces and quotidian moments of beauty with both digital and analog processes. Often working autobiographically, Swingley explores themes of nostalgia and human relationships, portraying vignettes of family, friends, and familiar environments.
Swingley is a senior Photography with Entrepreneurial Studies major and Art History minor at the Tyler School of Art and Architecture at Temple University. In Fall 2024, he taught as a Diamond Peer Teacher for a Photography 1: Digital course and led demonstrations for the Tyler Photo Club, where he serves as co-treasurer. Swingley was selected to display artwork in two of PhotoLounge’s student shows in Philadelphia in Spring 2023 and Fall 2024. In the Fall of 2024, Swingley was an assistant curator for In Focus, the Tyler Photo Program student exhibition.
